A lot of people think news anchors dont do anything but talk at 5, 6 & 10. But there is a lot of other work involved that goes on behind the camera. Perhaps she means that she's not just backstage having fun and kicking her feet up, but actually working

She means that she isn't just sitting around being pretty, like a spoiled rich lady ........ popping bonbons means eating fancy candies (bonbon is the French word for candy)

Bonbons are a type of candy, so when people say their poppin bonbons it means they're just sitting back relaxing with some candy, so when the anchor said she is not sitting back poppin bonbons t means actually works hard at her job.
