I use a PC but I want a mac.

Right now, I use PC, but I have used MAC in the past. Most of the functionality is the same, but I generally prefer PC, for two major reasons:

The MAC O/S isn't smart about the way it handles virtual memory. I found myself having to reboot several times a day (although they may have improved on this in more recent versions).

There is more software available for PC...It's just a simple fact that there are more people out there writing for PC than there are writing for MAC.

Mac now. I used PC for, well ever! I recently switched, and I prefer Mac. Software compatibility, now, is really not an issue. I use my computer for media stuff and documents; mostly school things. I'll admit, if you're a gamer, than Mac just isn't for you, it is just the way it is. However, Leopard is really easy to use, and I feel very comfortable with my computer and I have only had it for about 2 weeks.

I have both a G4 Power Mac and a Windows Vista computer. There are differences, believe it or not, I find Vista to be more stable and secure. Apps are easier to install/uninstall on a Mac, but more difficult to learn how to use vs. Windows (assuming you can find the same app for a Mac). Mac's do recover more gracefully from application crashes then Windows, but I have crashed more apps on my Mac then I have ever crashed under Windows. The Mac is basically a niche product, just like the iPhone is.

I use both Mac for reliability and Windows for maximum software surpport. For a Home Computer Macs are easyer to use but for business Windows tends to be better. Windows can be customized

PC has more compatibility with all software. MAC has very few compatible programs and is really only good for the professionals in multimedia.

Windows XP for now, but as soon as I get a laptop (and thus internet) I'm switching to Ubuntu. Mac would be great, but it costs money.
