house note is correct. you are not paying the mortgage, you are paying the note.
the mortgage is the bank holding the title on the house. you dont pay the note, they take the house. the note is the loan.
i also say mortgage, since only people with money can hold notes and care that they are holding the note, not the mortgage.
next week we will discuss "chattel mortgages". which are never used for houses, but are used for vehicles.

I call it a house payment. But since I spent alot of time in a banking environment, I know alot of people who call it a "note" since that is what alot of people call the loan contract they sign. I
