Simple. Be honest. Say exactly what happened. She might be a little upset, but women hate it if you lie. It makes them think you are untrustworthy and then really goes down hill from there.

Tell your friend, "Chin up....take it like a man."

Best of luck to you and your friend.....Finn.

My husband has lost his twice. He's an idiot. But really, he feels way worse about it than I do. It's not that big a deal. A ring doesn't make someone any more or less married.

Okay, so to answer your question, how does your friend tell his wife that he lost his wedding ring? I would suggest (a) immediately and (b) honestly. Tell him not to try to make up some story, just tell the truth.

I lost mine not long after we got married, but I had a good excuse. I was in the Army on a field training exercise in sub-freezing temperatures, and when I took off my gloves to do something it slipped off without my noticing. My wife was very understanding -- it's more about the symbol than the object. We replaced the ring not much later, and I've worn this second one almost continuously for about the last 20 years.

Of course not! If my husband told me he lost his ring, I would say "bummer, let's get another one". That's because I trust him and knows that it's an honest mistake that he lost it. If your friend thinks he will be in trouble. It's because he can't be honest with his wife how he lost the ring. Maybe took it off on a "guys night out" and could not find it?

If he does not have the money to get a new

one then he should sell something he has

valuable enough to get another ring just like the

one he lost to replace it or just be upfront

about it & depending on how he lost it he might

be forgived or cause a divorce, altho if he's

wife is an understanding woman he's got

nothing to worry about.

If it is legitimate...like it slipped off his finger and fell into a toilet after he'd just gotten done wiping his butt but didn't realize it till he'd flushed the toilet, then I would say that the wife should be understanding and just cope. Buy a new ring and move on.

IF, however, he's been in some recently sticky situations where faithfulness might come into question, he may be in a big heap o' steaming sh!t.

Its all situational, know what I mean??

I've never lost mine, but my wife lost her's once. No biggie...we had it insured. The bonus was it's value was larger than we paid for it, so i bought her an even nicer ring the second time around.

Every cloud has a silver lining, I guess.

Are we talking about a gold band or a very expensive ring.

If it's a gold band buy another one and say nothing. If it's an expensive ring and you buy another one say even less or she will want a new ring too.

I'm not kidding !

We all make mistakes and we all lose things from time to time. She might be mad but he can always wear a temporary ring on that finger until he can afford a new one. Besides, as long as he tells her and doesn't hide it, there should be no problem.

my husband has lost his wedding ring twice already! Once in the back yard...amazingly we did not find it! And once while out hunting. He told me. And I'm not happy about having to get him another one but oh well sh!t happens. No reason to get all mad about it!
