For the first time ever, i was bored & decided to go thru my brother's old handset which now my dad uses. I went into the inbox and saw a picture message with a profile of a 19 year old girl, half of her boobs were showing and she listed her interests about how she liked "pleasing college boys" etc. this made me sick as im 19 years old. dont tell me that i shouldnt go thru people's phones because thats NOT the point. what is this? why does he have it on his phone? is it one of those spam things that gets sent to ppl's phones or what??? im not planning to tell my mom

oh its not my brothers, he deleted all his messages before he gave it to my dad which was a year ago

this is important to me because thats my mom! i love her & i stand by her, im not gonna let anyone cheat on her, even if its my own dad!

I cant believe some of you think this is OK, this ISNT porn! Its a F****** profile which means CONTACT, and i was raised in a strict family with lots of rules, almost in a religious way! so i dont think this is OK because my parents taught me to be this way! so why is he doing it himself? MAN!

a) Your mum probably knows already, and is more than likely cool with it. They were young once too, they didn't just have sex once to have you and once to have your brother, there was probably a time when they were rampant as hell and talked about fantasies and stuff. If they did, that's healthy!
b) Looking at porn is NOT cheating.
c) I can't even be bothered to answer this question anymore, you had no right to be going through somebody elses private messages, and if all the evidence of an affair that you've got is one stupid picture then you're an idiot to be even thinking it.

Sorry, maybe I went a little far. Didn't mean to be insulting.
Listen, the photo is harmless and means nothing. All men look at porn - yes, married men too... and fathers! - and yes, sometimes these kind of things come through as spam, or get passed around by guys. It's unlikely to have come direct from the girl herself to your dad.
The thing about going through other peoples phone not being the point... I'm sorry, but it IS the point. It seems the only person guilty of any wrongdoing is you!
However, in these situations, owning up probably isn't the best way to go. Just put it behind you and forget about it.

Maybe it was left over from when your brother used it?
You may never find out the answer to that question.
The only one that can tell you is your dad, which means asking him about it.
I really can't see him telling you that it was his, because you are his daughter.
I would actually just leave it alone. Whether you know or don't know is not going to change any situations that are going on.
I know that you won't forget about it and that it will mess with you, but just let it go for a while. There will be other signs eventually if it's what you think it is.

Guys will be guys and your dad is a guy too. I am sure its hard to think of your dad and sex period even with mom but it the way the world is. No, in most cases you don't get those kinds of emails in your inbox unless you have at least been looking at pictures like that intentionally. If your parents have been together for a long time chances are that your mom already knows that your father is looking at stuff like that. I don't think that there is anything wrong with that unless he is hurting another person by acting on his impulses.

Is it possible that this was from when you brother had the phone??? If not, I dont know, it doesnt look good for a man to have something like this on his phone. If you can talk to your dad about it, I would do that. If he is up to no good, maybe that will embarrass him enough that he will stop. Good Luck

Is there a possibility that this has been left on the phone by your brother and your dad has no idea it's even there? I know for one thing that my father cant operate his mobile phone beyond looking in the phonebook.

This is almost confirmed by the fact the girl likes to "please college boys" considering your brother is more likely to be of college age than your dad :-)

Sounds like you need to do just a little more investigation..
Maybe your dad is into young chicks.. you're gonna be his age some day and young guys are still gonna be hot hun.

Don't jump to conclusions. If you truley believe that you were doing nothing wrong by peeking in the phone, ask him about it.

A man will be a man. I caught my dad looking at porn online, && looking on dating sites (looking, but he didnt have his own profile unless it was under a different name b/c I did some research). Who knows why they do it. I doubt he is cheating or anything of the such, probably just looking at the pics ya know?

Well it could have been something left over from your brother, or maybe your dad is a freak. I wouldn't trip on it too much. I mean the girl is 19 so she is of age, its not like he is a pedofiler

Maybe it's your brother's. Check the time stamp to see if it's recent. Without seeing it, it's hard to tell what it is, maybe it's something a friend forwarded him.

I can see why you're disturbed but remember your dad is still a man and you know what men are interested in. You can always just ask him.

if it's just a picture so what...yeah it's not really right if he's married, but it's okay to JUST look...as long as he is not having an actual conversation with this 19-year-old it's okay to look...would it be so wrong if your mom had a picture of Brad Pitt half naked on her phone...it's just a fantasy and I don't see anything wrong with it and it is possible that it was accidently left there by your brother too...
