What are the advantages of using BlueTooth?

If I buy a laptop with Bluetooth, the only other gadget i have w/ bluetooth is my phone..what are the advantages of it?

Depending on the phone and the software that came with it, you can use your bluetooth phone as a modem for your laptop. Establish a partnership between the two, set up a "dial up" connection for your laptop through the phone, and you have Internet anywhere your phone gets a signal.

Those are just a few uses. You can also connect to other bluetooth enabled laptops to make build a network for file sharing. Just remember that the devices have to be within a 30 ft range to accomplish a connection.

If you have a bluetooth already for your phone you can use the same one. People like to chat online and alot of times dont want to use their cell min. to do this. For the most part people use this for online gameing. If you dont intend to play online games... I dont really see the point... it depnds on how much of a technology junkie you are.

also depending on the phone you may be able to make a phone call over the net that doesnt use your providor but uses the internet to make the call...
