Wait a minute. Are they saying that skinny chicks with big boobs are smarter than skinny chicks with no ****? Because I think I have years of research that would contradict this philosophy. Now if they’re saying that chicks with big waists and big hips along with big boobs (AKA FAT CHICKS) are smarter than skinny chicks well than no ****. I don’t think we really needed a study to tell us this. I mean have you walked through Harvard Square or MIT before? Tons of smart fat chicks floating around those parts. But this has nothing to do with genetics. Fat chicks just have more time on their hands to hit the books while cute chicks are out *******. It’s more social Darwinism than anything else.

I don't believe any "studies", particularly when they're just here to make everyone feel good about the status quo; the status quo in this case being men enjoying the sight of hourglass figures moreso than thin ones.

These types of "investigations" are totally circular in their logic. "Well, x is this way, and y is this way, but not necessarily. So I think I'll fund a study where I'll come to the conclusion that it's natural that I came to view x this way and y this way." All it does is reinforce stereotypes, particularly in the realm of so-called "behavioral science". Where it concerns this particular study, we're being led to believe that there's some correlation to the types of bodies that men find most attractive, and those womens' brainpower! What, I guess to make attractive women feel better about themselves or something? It is ridiculous!

I still hold that there is nothing objective about science because people are always the ones doing the questioning. People are not objective creatures.

Yes I do. Funny thing is that I come across a piece of newspaper yesterday which contains this research. I captured a photo and kept it in my mobile phone.

I do believe even if i can not find explanation for it. It is because of my notice.

The research said that those who have the shape of a glass hour are smarter than the thin one who have the shape of a stick

Intelligence is nothing when not exercised. Did you see how these women are always associated with offspring??? Doesn't anyone realise that if they spend their time breeding and raising children, what is the point of being smart??? And don't tell me about intelligent children contribute more crap. Bcoz obviously they don't. The dumb cycle of society telling smarts to reproduce more smarts continues. What they fail to see is smarts are nothing when they do nothing. Its almost like asking a branch to produce more branches that'll produce even more branches in the HOPE that the end result will be more leaves. Noone does the actual leafing.

Researchers writing in Evolution and Human Behaviour speculated this was to do with fatty acids found on the hips.

In this area, the fat is likely to be the much touted Omega-3, which could improve the woman's own mental abilities as well as those of her child during pregnancy

Well, since I'm a curvy woman, then YES I totally support the findings and I agree 100%.

I think that most girls know that if they look cute and helpless some guy will come along and take care of them and give them free stuff.

They just have less drive to do well in school/work because success is optional for them. Of course, there are exceptions, I'm just speaking about the average.

I think the first poster is right. It is not hefty women who are smarter, but hefty women's children who are. Both my husband and I are high-IQ skinny children of hefty mothers, so it makes sense to us. (Of course, if the chilldren also turn out to be hefty (genetically likely), then they might appear to be smart because THEY are hefty.) These sorts of studies don't normally contribute much more than a small glimmer of information.

if they were using me in the study it would fail

im a " curvy" woman that dropped out of HS and has a GED...with an above average IQ at best.

ok ok...perhaps..it would not be a failure...but i wouldnt make it succeed much either.

oh and dont start me on my complete "blonde" moments

( no offense to blondes...i was one as a toddler so therefore..it is ok for me to have blonde moments...im just regressing to child hood at those times))

Makes sense to me. Cant argue with the study, although Im sure there are exceptions.

tas they have easier and fuller supply of essential fats and acids for fetal brain development. this source seems to be altering it. but this could be a link with psychological deduction, bulling for example(however, knowledge does not hugely effect intelligence). maybe they are intelligent as they had 'curvy' ,others them selves as a genetic trait.

sounds feasable to me.
