As some of you may know, I only have coffee on Friday, and then I usually come on here and ask a silly question. Davin really likes these questions, so Davin this one is for you.

If it was your choice to rename the nearest arena to where you live, would you rename it, or would you keep it the same?

Example: I live closest to the St. Pete Times Forum. I think it is stupid, because St. Petersburg, FL is about 15 miles away from the arena in Tampa. Since there is no history behind the name, I would rename it back to it's old name, the Ice Palace.

Davin: In honor of your new avatar I would like to say that is one thing the Blackhawks have done right. Irene Castle’s original was design has not been changed much over the years, which why their sweater still makes me feel warm and fuzzy to the eyes.

tromb: The Tigers play down here in FL (Lakeland) for spring training at Joker Marchant Stadium. The stadium was named after some civil servant in the parks and rec department, that happened to be a real "joker". I always thought, what a stupid name.

LITY: I figured your live closer to Chicago.
Andrew: There are a ton of Yankee fans down here, as well. Most of them are from Puerto Rico. It's almost like they came down here for spring training, and then never left.
11-0: I also like Boston Garden better
No_Dirt: Since you are not going to play my game, I want to take this moment to high-five you on the best Tracy Terry answers ever.

Joe: I like the Balboa Center better, sorry.

PuckDat: Why is that? Why are all of the Leaf fans attending game so dressed up? Tradition, class, or snob-ism?

Erica: I like Mario Lemiux Place better than you other suggestion. Actually that other suggestion, made me taste little bit of throw up in the back of my mouth. lol. I am glad you enjoy coffee Friday, also. I figure since I drink like prohibition laws are being passes next week, I better limit myself on one or the other.

No_dirt; Hate to break it to you but Yankee spring training is in Tampa, now. I don’t know crap about baseball, but I pass the Yankee stadium everyday.

TB: Yes, I know it's the newspaper, but it's a St. Pete newspaper. The Tampa Tribune is the Tampa newspaper. I know you are creative. Maybe you are just burnout from school today.

Thanks for the invite, Haley ;)

Actually... could it be a first... I am on the same page as you with this. I would love to see the United Center changed back to the original name where Hawks and Bulls played... the Chicago Stadium. Although, truthfully it wouldn't obviously be the same. I think for memories and traditional reasons I'd like that name to continue on but it could be an insult to even compare the two facilities. I also have always wished the Blackhawks involved fans with more of the teams original origins. If it weren't for the Bulls (reinsdorf) being part owner of the building I wouldn't mind it being named after the Blackhawks original founder, Major Frederic McLaughlin. I dunno... McLaughlin Arena or something like that.

Update: Thank you Irene! Thank you Haley!

Indeed, St. Pete Times Forum is a bit weird. It's a mouthful too.

I think I have to keep the Mellon Arena what it is, even though I call it "The Igloo" like many others do. The Pens aren't going to be using it in 2010, 2011... Something like that. I have a list of ideas for the new arena though. Like the "Mario Lemieux Place Arena" (Mario Lemiux Place is actually in the address of the Mellon, and the new arena will be right across the street...) or "The House That Sid Built". Lol.

Haley, this is why you're awesome... My best friend and I have Coffee Friday. We always go out for coffee on Friday, especially if there's a Pens game. I guess the big difference is that I have coffee almost every other day of the week. Haha.

Thank you for wishing me a happy birthday yesterday, by the way! :)

You do know that it's the St. Pete Times Forum because of the newspaper, right?

I really have no clue what I would change it to. I'm not much of a creative guy....

EDIT - When Am I NOT burnt out from school would be a better question.

Closest NHL Arena is the RBC Center in Raliegh.

I would name it The Relocation Center since most in attendance are transplanted yankees.

I live in Philly but so for some reason I was always in favor of the last name the First Union Center or F.U.C. for short.

PS.The Balboa Center doesn't have a ring to it.

Well, the closest arena to me is Maple Leaf Gardens, and I doubt they will be changing the name of it any time soon.

Haley
I own a small condo in downtown Toronto (I am a Canadian citizen after all), I own a house in Highland Park, Illinois which I live in when my ex isn't there. My ex owns a condo in Daytona Beach where she spends her winters.....when she's in Florida..............I'll be in Chicago.

Are we talking all sports or just hockey?

If it's just hockey, I'd keep the Joe Louis Arena name.

If it's all sports, I'd totally change Comerica Park to what it should be, Tiger Stadium.
