It has not been used since May 2007. The lines and tanks were drained then so there should not be anything left in the lines to freeze. Do I still need to winterize or will the pipes be ok?

When they were drained were they blown out with air or just drained? The problem with draining is that sometimes some water is left in a low spot or whoever does the draining doesn't do a thorough job. When draining the water also needs to be drained. It has a plug in it that has to be removed. Draining the lines will NOT drain the heater. If you do decide to winterize, DO NOT use auto antifreeze as it is highly toxic and once put in to a water system can never be fully cleaned out. If you winterize, go to an RV dealer or supply and get the antifreeze that is made for use in the water system. I personally would make sure the the drains, including the water heater, were all open and then use a pressurized air source to blow the lines out and make sure they're clear. A lot easier, since it was already drained, than winterizing and then having to de-winterize next year.

You have to do something with the sinks and toilet! they have traps in them and hold water. These will freeze and burst during the winter. Don't forget to drain the hot water heater, too!

Yes the lines could freeze up and crack from shrinkage and shatter.
