In my opinion, most of Saturn's moons are really part of its rings, but too big to be considered space debris. Saturn's rings are composed of space rocks made of metals and dry ice, so it is likely that it's moons are as well, and these substances are remains from the creation of the universe.

I would also recommend researching Titan, Saturn's biggest moon. It has a thick atmosphere composed of unknown gases that may hide life, along with other information about the solar system.

The moons are very likely made of materials that either our solar system if not just what Saturn is made from.

I always saw Saturn's moons as 'planets' that were sweeping up the debris of the rings, much as the planets around the sun swept up it's debris to become the planets here today.... and in that way, giving us a look at how our world formed... and how the Moon got all those dents!.... *smile*.......
