If your arms are full, that's one thing. I'm talking about if you have at least one hand free and could get the door yourself.

Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks!

The only women I've ever seen get offended about door holding was when the person made a show of beating her to the door in order to open it for her. I've never seen a woman get upset about someone holding the door when that person happened to be there first.

It doesn't offend me at all. I love it. I try to extend the courtesy to other people as well. If somebody is behind me I usually hold the door open. In fact, my fiance has just gotten used to opening the door for me. And I didn't even have to remind him!!

I think it is polite for anyone to hold a door open for another person, even if they're fully capable of doing it themselves, or not.

The only annoying thing is when a guy gets annoyed at you for opening the door for yourself, or for him.

No. It offends me when they DON'T. However, I have to say ... I open the door for whoever is behind me or coming out whether they are a girl or boy. It's a common courtesy to show to another human being.

No. Why would it?
I hold doors open for other people all the time, too. Old, young, male, female.

It doesn't offend me at all.
I think it shows good manners, especially from a man. There's very few Gentlemen left these days, and it's good to see them sometimes.

No, I think it is polite, but what really pisses me off is when I open the door for people and they do not say thank you, smile or anything..it makes me so mad.
