2/5 but next time ask why that's the case so you can figure out your own homework. A fraction is a division problem if you divide the number below the line into the number above the line you'll see that 2/5 gives you .40 where as 8/15 gives you .53.

An ideal approach would be to eliminate one by one..
It could be easily determined that 8/15 is slightly greater than 0.5
5/6 is obviously very much greater than 0.5. So it is ruled out.
2/3 is also very much greater than 0.5 Hence that is also ruled out.
7/10 again is very much greater than 0.5 .So it is ruled out.
Hence 2/5 is the answer.

2/5 simply divide the numerator by denominator to prove it.
