When you wash his clothes, add a cup of white vinegar to the wash water. That should neutralize the odors.

My husband works in a steel processing plant so his work clothing gets sweaty AND greasy... I've found that adding 1/3 c to 1/2 c. of regular baking soda takes out any dirt and odor and allows you to use LESS detegent.. It boosts the detergent working power.... It's also CHEAP $5 for a 12 lb. bag at the local wholesale club. good luck

Most important, wash his clothes as soon as he gets home every time and then I'd use one of the following with your detergent:
- Super Washing Soda (yellow box in laundry isle) it's a detergent booster & household cleaner
-20Mule Team Borax (green box in laundry isle) also laundry booster & multi purpose household cleaner

or
- Oxi clean
Good luck getting the smell out!

Several products should help:
1) A scoop of oxy-clean added to wash cycle
2) Borax OR baking soda OR washing soda added to wash cycle - see package for amounts
3) 1/2 cup vinegar added to rinse cycle
If they are white (or will tolerate it) good old Clorox bleach is one of the best odor removers

Hang it outside on a sunny day.
The sun is a great bleaching agent.
