Yeah, I've done that once or twice when the food was too spicy. You have to stand up for what you want. Also, I'll tell you what my mom and I did one time. We were in a restaurant. We were the ONLY people in the restaurant. We get our drinks, and order the food. We end up waiting and waiting. We started making jokes about them going to the ocean to get the fish. We waited 50 minutes! Finally, we just got up and ran out. We only left some money on the table for the drinks. It was crazy!

Afraid? No. But I rarely bother unless there is something seriously wrong with it or I got the wrong thing. I certainly did not pay $20 to get a raw or burned steak, that is for sure!!! In the cases where I don't do it, however, it is usually laziness or the fact that whatever was wrong was minor and unimportant that prevents me from sending it back.

I find that to be really rude.I always try to be a little courteous.

My dad's always bugging me about being scared to walk out of a restaurant after being shown to your seat because you've changed your mind. What he dosen't know is that I'm being courteous, something that he has no idea about. If there's something wrong with the service/food/whatever,I'd storm out of there leaving a trail of destruction in my path. But if I'm already shown to my seat and I go out just because I've changed my mind,I find that to be really rude and embarrassing to the restaurant.

I've never had a problem sending food back. It's not something I've had to do often, but I've never gotten any trouble when I do. And on occasion, I've been thanked for pointing out something that wasn't right.

After seeing the movie "Waiting..." I have a whole new perspective on the wait staff...

Make sure the next time you have to send food back you reference this movie & be apologetic when asking for them to fix it...

I haven't a problem sending it back! I am not rude about it!
If I am paying for something it's gotta be good and have nothing wrong with it!
