there are sexual rumors about a friend of mine and we were wondering how long until people forget or stop talking about them

the rumors will never cease people love to talk to crap about people. you have to learn to rise above what people think. you can make one mistake and they'll never forget it even if you've done tons of good things in your life\

Rumors last until the next big scandal comes along. Advise your friend to keep his/her head down and just don't show if it bothers you. The stupid scandal lovers will stop sooner if they get no reaction from you. Its all about reaction and drama. Unfortunately some people have nothing better to do with their time than gossip about other people.
You all hang in there and soon they will focus on somebody else!

people are so rude...huh?
well, that happened to me too...but, everyone knew me and knew it wasnt true, so it lasted for a little while, but I say that it went away after about 4 months.
It just depends on how big or small your school is.
I went to a HUGE high school....so, people didnt care as much!
Smaller schools are probably worse because they tend to thrive on drama since there is not as much going on in their small school.
Dont worry about it...hold your head high...just laugh about it! Thats all you can really do!
I would say that by the next school year all the rumors will be gone!
But, in a few weeks in will be better!

Considering the fact that the average teen has a five second attention span, I would say --- probably not very long. They will have forgotten all about you by next school year.

Not until they find something else of ' value ' to talk about.
Something like that happened to me and it took over 7 months for everyone to get busy and find something else to do/ talk about .
