Pain is one way. A person with chronic pain may experience difficulty with pleasure.

Depression is another way. The inability to experience pleasure (anhedonia) is one hallmark symptom of depression. Depression is essentially a bodily dysfunction (an imbalance in neurotransmitters).

One other way could be erectile dysfunction or other physically-based sexual disorders which prevent orgasm (sexual pleasure).

Best of luck to you on your paper,

Who the hell wrote that question?

I'm a graduate-educated child psychotherapist, and I don't know how to answer that question. It looks like it was written by a 6th grader. What does that even mean?

1) Technically, all pleasure is mental to some degree. Our brains perceive pleasure stimuli that we might receive from our bodily tissue or from chemicals that our brain itself releases.

2) How does the body interfere? What is that supposed to mean?

I guess I would talk about how the body also sends pain signals to the brain, which override pleasure mechanisms if the pain is bad enough. Who cares if my arms are comfortable when my leg is about to break, for example.
