I have a 2 door Ford Focus and my sister, who often takes my son out, has a 2 door Honda Civic SI. We have found that the Safety First car seat fits into both cars real well, although it is a bit snug in my Focus (a lot smaller than my sister's SI). My husband has an Accord and it fits real well in there. Here's what we have:

If it is front facing yes. Rear facing, you might be able to fit it in the middle with some adjustment of the front seats. You have to make sure your back seat has the appropriate seatbelt or has a the two middle latches available of course. We managed to fit our car seat in the middle of our subaru outback, and it was tight, but it fit. I had a safety person inspect it, because they have certified safety stations throughout the US, and the guy said that it was ok that the car seat was touching the back of the two front seats. We chose the Eddie Bauer because it seemed like the least bulky. It is a very big pain to install, but it fit. If the Britax ends up being too big that's always an option. It's a good seat and I feel confident about it's safety..it's just hard to install. Another option is the Evenflo. My husband bought one for his car and he loves how easy it is to install and it seems pretty durable. There are a couple of models and I have heard good things about both. Some of the Britax marathons are being recalled right now, I believe for summer 2006. So make sure you investigate which ones are ok.

Go to a local store that sells them. They will let you take their display model and try and install it in your car or they may try to install it for you.

It really is best to try them in your own car. Everyone likes their seats in different positions ... so it may work for some people with the same car and not in yours.
