Hi, maybe this visualization will help you out. Draw circles around the edges of your rectangle. A rectangle is made up of four 90 degree angles at each corner. Examine a corner and you'll see that there are 270 degrees left on the circle. These 270 degrees make up an exterior angle for the rectangle's corner. The sum of the external angles is 270*4 = 1080 degrees. 1080 is a multiple of 360, so the sum of the exterior angles of a rectangle is 360 degrees. This is because you can rotate the radius of a circle any number of times you want 360 degrees and you'll always end up where you started. Please vote my response as the best answer.

That's true of any polygon... the sum of the exterior angles of a polygon add up to 360°.

The exterior angle is the angle formed by extending one side out and creating the supplementary angle (angle b in the diagrams below). For a 90° angle, the supplementary angle is also 90°. There are 4 of them so they add up to 360°

Let's take a triangle as another example. Let's say the angles were 45°, 65° and 70° (adding up to 180°). The exterior angles would be: 135°, 115° and 110° respectively. These add up to be 360°.

Just remember the exterior angles of *any* convex polygon add up to 360°

The way you worded it, each exterior angle would be 270.
270 x 4 = 1080

Is that a question or a statement. It is worded like a statement and even has a period, so I assume you are just telling us that you know something. But then you throw the question mark after the period. Are you just trying to confuse us?
