hey ppl
I have a gateway laptop and sometimes when im on a site it would just refresh automatially and come up with the gateway error page or sumthing like that(i really dunno but hope u guys know wat im talking about)is it because of viruses or spywarres..wth help me plz infact im scanning with mcafee and it says it found 11 items-so do u guys think this is why sometimes the internet page would just refresh and come up with a gateway page saying the site doesnt exist or work-so any advice from PPL who have been thru or know what is wrong and how this can be rectified will be helpful...

Looks like you have some adware which links to a site that no longer exists. They are trying to throw you a pop-up or pop-under but the URL of the pop-up is invalid.
You should try to kill the adware, (if you don;t have a good package for that try lavasoft adaware 2007. not bad for free)
another good thing to try would be a secondary browser.
If this is happening with Internet Explorer, maybe try firefox. If it is happening with Firefox give Opera try. If it is happening with all of the above you may have an actual virus rather than just some rather innocuous adware

1. Download and run firefox to protect your from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ) .Then update your windows through firefox

5. Get the clean up tools to clean up the spyware from your temp folder (the place they are stored when downloaded by internet explorer)

ok what i had to do for mine is to get a clean up disk now u need to get some other disk so u can save all ur stuff on there that is not track down with virus ok then put that disk in and it will wipe ya system clean and then it will be all fresh and new...

clean your machine using your mcafee program and also get a free spyware removal from "pack.google.com" and update often. thi will remove any and all adware, tracking cookies and trjans. good luck.

3. recover your computer to a previous time period
4. destructive recovery your computer to its factory condition state
