If it's sung by someone with a powerful but fantastic voice, "O Holy Night" is probably the only one that can routinely bring me to tears. Josh Groban does it really well. Otherwise, any song with a part that "swells" (like "O Holy Night" or "Broken Wing" by Martina McBride), particularly when performed live, will do it to me.

"In the Deep" by Bird York and "Is Jesus Your Pal" by Gus Gus are other ones. From the soundtrack to 'Wicked', there is a song call "I'm Not That Girl" which brought me to tears once - I could really relate to the lyrics at that point in my life. I have to add "Untitled" by Simple Plan; when coupled with the music video, it's a very powerful song about the effects of drunk driving.

Yes, Concrete Angel by Martina Mcbride also, Holes in the Floor of Heaven....I can't remember who sings that.

There was also a John Micheal Montgomery song a while back... The Little Girl...here is part of the lyrics.

She said I know that man up there on that cross
I dont know his name
But I know he got off
He was there in my old house
And held me close to his side
As I hid there behind our couch
The night that my parents died

City of Blinding Lights - U2

The beginning on it sounds so lively, but sad at the same time. The guy's voice is perfect

YES BUT ITS HARD TO THINK OF ONE RIGHT NOW. MUSIC IS POWERFUL. THE THOUGHTS THAT THE WRITERS PUT INTO IT ARE ASTOUNDING SOMETIMES. I AGREE.
