I work in a small New England town that has so many hitching posts, you wonder just how many horses could be tied up at once! Every building on the main street has stone pillars in front and back. Some are broken off now or leaning, but most are still in good shape. In the village where I grew up, a number of houses had not only hitching posts, but the small block of steps where ladies could get out of the buggy.

There is an entire section in Boise Id that has the old original hitching posts out in front of the now restored mansions..they are concrete with huge rings in the tops to tie up to. I had a bar in a ghost town here and we had hitching rails out front and they were used every weekend.

the place I grew up, our ball field replaced right into a amassing place for quite a few small cities. there have been hitching posts (2) on the sector for the toddlers who rode their horses. whilst i replaced into nonetheless very youthful, i may well be fairly exhausted by using the tip of the nighttime. a pair of those cases i'd desire to basically lay forward on my paint horse and sleep. as quickly as I awakened (through fact the pony stopped shifting), i may well be in front of my residing house. That replaced into an incredible horse.
