It's really annoying if you miss the cast at the beginning and you can't remember an actor's name. In British tv shows they show the cast at the end, why can't the Americans?

They're too busy rushing to Macdonalds when programmes finish.

They show the cast in the opening credits for most primetime shows, which is good enough for me. The only time they show the cast at the end is during soap operas, except for Bold and the Beautiful, which shows the cast at the beginning sometimes.

They don't show them in America because people aren't really interested in them. That means they switch off, and sponsors, advertisers don't like that.

What's more annoying is the amount of commercial breaks that American shows have compared to British shows.

That said, the official websites of American shows tend to be far superior and you can find out the names of actors on them if you need to.

Yeah and worse than that they spend too much time and effort making sure that the name of the hair dresser and lipstick putter on-er gets a mention, not forgetting the best-boy and someone called the clapper person, whoever they might be.

This is exactly the sort of nonsense one can expect in a democracy - everyone being treated as though they were equal. Where will it all end? My council actually naming dust cart operatives on one of their flyers about recycling etc.

Because WE CAN!!!! hehehe.

No really, some shows do, some don't. Our tv is dominated by FCC regulations and marketing, so why show at the beginning and end when they can cut to more commercials and make money after the show is over.

Oh and I don't go to McDonalds, its freaking disgusting, I haven't eaten there in almost 8 years.

because they used to and people don't watch it. now, sometimes, they show it in a partial screen while playing a preview for the next week's episode. but now, you can go online and find that stuff out...an even better reason for not needing credits.

If you type the name of the show into the research engine of;

www.imdb.com

you'll have all the details you need.
