A skateboarder rides down the side of a half pipe that has a 25m diameter. He starts from rest and moves through an angle of 0.85 radians. If the skateboard has a wheel with a 2cm radius, how many rotations does each wheel make?

Kia ora
distance travelled is found using d=rΘ = 12.5*0.85
Circumference of the wheel is 2πr = 2*π*0.02
Number of rotations is distance/circumference.
Hope this helps.

the angle of displacement times the radius is the linear distance traveled
the skateboarder displaced 0.85 radians
on a 12.5 m radius
or
s=0.85*12.5
s=10.625 m

Every rotation of the skate wheel
displaces a distance of 2*π*r
so if we divide 10.625 by 2*π*r
we have the number of rotations
84.6 rotations
