I bet people in iraq and afganistan think united states are the terrorists. the world probably thinks america are terrorists since they killed thousands of iraqies and there own soldiers. I bet if U.S goverment attack iran the people in iran will call united states terrorists.

Sorry, I don't recall anyone calling the Iraqis terrorists in the first Gulf War, or people calling the Vietnamese terrorists in the 60's and 70's. It's sad that the Bush administration is using "The War on Terror" to justify his misguided foreign policy, but we should elect a new president before he can attack another nation. Hopefully, the new president will scrap Bush's foreign policy, like it should have been years ago.

Don't confuse what the wealthy ruling class want & the will of the legal decent American citizen! They casually toss around the word "WE" when time for the blame game i have never wanted more then taking care of our own country first above any other priorities! The manner in which the wealthy have put us into the globalization scene has hurt the majority of citizens here, and I would suspect the same for most other countries!

I think you're right on point. The American elites--politicians, scholars, media, etc.--call victims of US aggression terrorists to deceive the American public. The public here says the same thing about people defending their own countries because of these perpetual lies. The public is complex as a whole, but in general I think most Americans are indifferent to politics because they're largely excluded from any meaningful participation in their own lives.

oh man richard where have you been? the government has already been caught in lies about iraq, they are killing thousands of innocents, who have nothing to do with al quada, they are fighting against the iraqis with weapons way superior to them, and they (iraqis) are fighting back against invasion, wouldn't you fight against another country invading your country, your backyard?

they are putting woman, children in houses and setting them on fire, they are shooting from houses on unsuspecting people going about their lives of walking down the street to buy food, and they are laughing about it (saw a video of some soldiers doing that)

this war on terror is bogus, how can you have a war on fear? look up terror in the dictionary it is not a people an ideology or anything tangible, it is a phoney slogan. terror is fear, not people, not groups, not a nation or anything of the sort it is not even a religion.

the only fear I see is one nation invading another without just cause. it would be different if they sent submarines and ships near our shores and started to fire on cruise ships or something, but they don't even have that capability. these people are militarily poor always have been, surly not well equiped like hitler who was funded by corporations one which was owned and operated by prescott bush. we have to remember that corporations and bankers etc, do not have loyalty to any nation, they will use whoever they can to get what they want, have valuable resources in your country? not willing to sell them cheaply? not willing to take bribes? how about a bomb in your backyard to convince you to give up the goods? shock and awe, sound familiar? works.

If there is no objective truth, but rather everything is based on opinion and/or perspective....then....you're right. But, if you're right, then what does it matter? There would be no absolutes in the way of right and wrong - and the stronger nations can dictate what they want to the weaker nations. And no one would have any "moral" high ground to challenge that, because there would be no moral objectivity to which we can appeal.

If, however, you accept as one of your guiding moral premises that a nation has the right to protect itself (including its vital interests - and, by that, I don't mean greed), then things become a little more clear.

Maybe because the people we're trying to root out from Iraq and Afghanistan are indeed terrorists trying to kill and horrify people into submission under them? Could that be why we call them terrorists? We aren't at war with Iraq or Afghanistan; we're trying to prevent them from being overrun by people who would make it necessary that we declare war against the countries themselves.

You are perfectly correct. bush can not think like you, he does not deserves to be President.. One day I notice on a car bumper sticker, whcy says,
"Be nice to america. Otherwise they will give your country freedom".... that is perfectly correct.
