Shrouds the boatmen,
Have they come to loot or linger,
I point a finger, and wail the alarming call.
Men behind masks
Hide intentions,
As I listen, friend or foe unsignaled,
I raise my pistol, a fist full of lead is my answer.
Cease fire you oaf!
It’s the Lord Mayors boat!
I throw down my gun, and run for a mile,
All the while, knowing I cannot go home again.

Sherlock and Watson afoot at night
Came upon a curious sight
A decrepit shack perched by the moor
With a strangely shaped half-open door
Oval like a citrus fruit
With a single orange door hinge to boot
'Twas painted a garish color yellow
Inside the house someone was playing a cello
The door was guarded by a sleeping sentry
Said Sherlock, "Dear Watson, that's a lemon entry."

No, sadly enough, I cannot. But I thoroughly enjoy his wonderful prose. Now I sit and wonder if perhaps I'm just grossly out of touch with the world, he is a well known poet already and I'm the last to know. Shoot me and put me out of my misery or to the glue factory I will go.

I can't beat him in English, but I write better than him in French. By the way, I did not know he was 100, I thought he was only a few days old.
