Black will be appropriate, you will find many women wearing black as well. Black is always elegant.

Well, most people stick to dark colors just because it's flattering and won't really draw attention from the bride. And apparently, you're not supposed to wear colors associated with the wedding (say their theme is white and green, try not to wear the same shade of green, and never ever wear white). Also, I'm not sure about the "little" aspect of the dress, but if it's tasteful, cute enough, and doesn't make you look absolutely dreadful, wear it. You might want to dress it up with accessories, just to make a splash (but not a huge cannonball of a splash). If possible, I'd suggest you buy a cheap dress in a nice, "mysterious" color, like a midnight blue or a dark purple. You might not want to outshine the bride, but you don't want to look out of place, either. Good luck!

depends. what time of day is the wedding? If it is daytime, it might be too dressy. Here in california people have been wearing black for a long time to weddings, but dressed up with colorful accessories. However, I only usually seem them for evening weddings when you need to be dressier.

so you should be fine.

black to a wedding is sometimes construed as disrespectful. many people consider it inappropriate. it's an indirect signal that you are sad that the bride and groom are getting married (black is the color of mourning - funeral).

black should be reserved for cocktail parties or other parties, and funerals. it's a major no-no at weddings.

WEAR SOMETHING ELSE (otherwise, you risk embarassing your boyfriend - they may not say it to your face, but people will be thinking it).

yeah as long as you go for a semi formalish hair, but as long as the dress isnt cotton (casual fabric ;D) you should be fine, but may i recomend for a happier appirance go for mabey some patten red heels/ballet flats :O but sounds to me like you'll be gorgeous, and if ur just a guest, and no special ties with the bride and groom casualformal is good lol u dont wanna distract all veiws from the blushin bride =) hope i helped !peace homies xoxoxo gl!

Black is a bit... depressing. Wear silver shoes or even sparkly silver ones with that silver clutch. I think you should go out and buy a cute white , or light shaded coloured dress.

I know people say black is inappropriate at a wedding but it's elegant, doesn't bring too much attention away from the bride and it's not too short.
I think you'll look fab =]

Sounds cute, have you thought about a large cocktail ring in a fun color or jeweled heels just to add interest to the outfit, but be careful not to out shine the bride.

It is NEVER good to wear black or white to a weeding. the accessories may help but i would recomend some kind of lite olored jacket to accessorize or something. Personally i would not wear a plain black or plain white suite to a wedding.
