My personal favorite is Nirvana, i also like Soundgarden and Alice in Chains.

Nirvana was my favorite band back in the day, but I dont listen to them as much as their contemporaries nowadays. I actually love Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots. Heck, even Bush.
That being said, my vote goes to Alice In Chains
The MTV Unplugged, where the band hadnt been in concert for like two years, is just freaking amazing. They actually sound better live than on record. The Cantrell-Staley was amazing together. Mike Inez on the bass gives a great performance too
And Staley, even though he could barely be sitting still with all his heroin problems going on- I doubt he was high then, but was still clearly weak- gives an impressive performance even considering that his voice wasnt what once was.
With all due respect to Cobain and all of his greatness and legend, Layne was the most amazing singer grunge ever had. It's a shame.

Still Alice In Chains. Being that grunge is much like Latin, I don't see that changing anytime soon.
