single working mom...but I think I can scrape by. Had a call from one of the local businesses last week who have a list of names they want to buy Christmas presents for. My son was on the list. Made me cry with joy. There ARE still good people in this world, aren't there?

No I don't think so - I always worry about that but somehow everyone gets something and there is a nice dinner on the table. I try not to get too worked up about it as spending time with family and friends is more important than the money. There are people in this world far worse off and it makes me sick to see people overspending for the sake of it.

not really. unfortunately i just lost my job. i am also a fisherman. i am really thinking of getting my captains license.(6 pack ) i really don't have much competition here in Hernando county fl. the only down fall about that is you have to have health bene's i found it very important to have them. they are quite costly. so charging 200.00 a half day for 2 hopefully 3-4 trips a week might not be enough. maybe supplement another income?

Sure!

I squirrel away money all year through and i only buy stuff for my nearest and dearest which totals 6 - so that'll work out as only £400.

One present per, except my fella who gets a couple :)

It is relative, depending on how much or how little you plan on staying within your budget. With very little money you can become more creative, and maybe make something rather than buying it.

We always see ourselves through Xmas, however much/little money there is. But yes, my girl gets the bike she wants.

Sure, I just don't give away what I don't have.

I figure, No one I love enough to give a present to, hates me enough to want to see me in debt.

Barely enough. We are not exchanging any large ticket items this year, so we should have enough to just get by.
