I burn dvd's and cd's all the time...i use DVD+R's and CD-R's/CD-RW's. So why aren't the DVD+RW's/DVD-RW's recognized in the disk drive? It is cd/dvd rewriteable so I am at a loss to why it isn't working...

I own a Dell Latitude d800 and under the device manager the drive is listed as:
HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GCA 4040N.

To use RW media U need to format it with a packet writing type application like Nero (from memory) Never use RW myself, too much hassle

Not all drives recognize all brands of media, try using a different brand
