I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. The movie was OK, but nothing I ever want to see again. ...And I really like gangster movies like The Godfather and A Bronx Tale, but this movie couldn't hold a candle to them... I'm also a big Matt Damon fan, so u think I would have been biased to like the film even more, but I was not impressed. Why does everyone like it so much?

Agreed! Martin Scorsese + Jack Nicholson + Matt Damon + Leo DiCaprio + Mark Wahlberg should equal KBOOM! A monster pic! But no, we get an OK gangster pic.

It was as big a disappointment to me as "Saving Private Ryan." Instaed of the definative Spielberg war movie, we get an OK war pic.

Go figure!

It was a great movie. Ok I may be a little biased as I live in Boston and think that any movie based here is a good one. One of the reasons why people like it so much is how it paralells what has gone on around here before.

I generally don't like those types of movies other then a few other Scorsese movies. When I first saw the trailer, I fell in love with the movie. I really don't even know why. I don't like movies with so much language so I bought it edited. I ordered it the second they had it on their website. When I got it in the mail, I made a Boston themed meal I had been planning for weeks. I thought it was great directing, awesome acting and a creative script.

I actually liked it quite a bit. Not the best movie ever, but it's high up on my list. I think the storyline was great and the writer did a wonderful job. The actors played their roles well. It was put together very nicely.

I really appreciated the writing and the acting most of all. It definitely didn't hold up to Infernal Affairs that delved into character a bit more, but this version was still enjoyable. However, I would not have given it best picture by far. It's been done before and better!

I haven't seen a movie that good in a long time. But that was when it first came out. Now American Gangster is the good movie I haven't seen in a long time.
