I know this is America and while we are more fasinated with "celebs" than our own mental well-being, that of our children, and the proper functioning of our government........I think the freedoms of the "paparratti" (or how ever you spell it) is outrageuos. I'm not one to "hate" on anyones means of making a living. Is there a document that one can file with the local authority, to demand immunity from punishment, when "assulting" an alledged "photographer" or something?

You are asking for immunity from committing crime? The answer is going to be no.

Here is an idea. If people wouldn't buy tabloid magazines it would put the paparazzi out of business and this wouldn't even be an issue.

I saw someone on the news the other night that was being overcome with photographers, so he got his camera and stood in front of the crowd and took their pictures. Right back at them. He was in their face, behind and all around them. Within a few moments they all started leaving in disbelief and frustration.

They do have a right to earn a living, but that right ends when it interferes with someone else's right to be left alone.

cheers.

George Clooney pulled his motorcycle over after paparazzi cut him off. He took the license number of the car and called it in to police. I think if they start to set up logical boundaries (ie not running me off the road, staying out of my yard, etc) then the paparazzi will have a hard time getting their pictures.

Really it is more up to us. If we quit buying these magazines, then there will be no need for all these photos.

Assault is one thing, self-defense is another. Immunity can be bought, and that is an unfortunate fact..but for more info you can contact your local police department. (in person would be more effective)

they should just act normal and friendly, papparazzi only leach onto those who like to react unpleasantly. after a while they get bored with the normal celebs

I don't know if this could work, but I would try to copyright my image and then charge anyone who profits from a photo they have taken of me a royalty fee.

No there isn't. If you assault someone you can face criminal charges, and they can sue you for damages. Nothing you can do ahead of time can stop that.
