I'm burned out to the whole idea even. Yes I feel the neighborhood pressure to conform. The holiday coctails still sound good though.

The holiday season is a lot of pressure, do what feels best for you, and you don't have to decorate to hit up all the neighborhood parties for free booze.

If you don't want to, don't. It's as easy as that. Just be prepared if people ask why you're not putting up lights and such.

This year a lovely, handy excuse would be, "We've decided not to put up light to conserve energy and our electric bill."
