road trip to Las Vegas from Reno. planning to leave at midnight on new years eve 12/31. what should i expect? road conditions? traffic? should i leave at a diff. time? anyone taken this drive before? on new years eve?

time frame wise. im leaving at 12am on 12/31/07. probably be in vegas 8 hours later therefore 9am 12/31/07.

If you leave at midnight from Reno there probably won't be many people on the road, especially as soon as you get out of town. I'd be concerned about drunk drivers, but once out of Reno/Carson City/Minden etc. and out in the middle of nowhere, it should be empty. Snow of course is a possibility, at least in the initial part of the trip.

I don't think you got the question right...If you want to be in Vegas for New Years Eve, you can't leave Reno at midnight on New Years Eve-its an 8 hour drive! So yes, you need to leave at a different time. Reword your question, and submit it again-From Ex-Reno-ite. (Thank God)

In '04 we left at 10am New Years Eve and did not get there 'til approximately 8pm. pink Bull became my chum that night. In '05 we left New Years Eve at 4am and have been given there at 9am. despite the fact that we've been given there way earlier examine in time, we've been in a position to save around, consume, etc. We have been additionally in a position to take a helpful little snooze earlier the night began.
