The Boston Massacre was a cause because it showed that the British didn't think the colonist were worth nothing even their justice system. When the incident happened and 6 colonist were killed, a lot of people would have been happy seeing the men killed. The Anti-British were using it to show the brutality of the attack and in reality the colonist struck first and hit a British soldier. The Colonist gave the soldiers and their officer a fair trial for the killing of the colonist. John Adams defended the soldiers and won for all but two of the soldier who was charged with manslaughter. Then the two were cleared by the British courts and said to the colonist that the soldiers of the British empire will only be judged in a British, not a colonial court. For the colonist, it was a slap in the face and proof of the mother country treating their colonist even if they are from the mother country are only second class citizens and even the slobs of British Army were above a high class colonist (If the British want to said that their were no slobs in the British Army not, let me remind them that they were scraping the barrel to fill the ranks. The poor and the criminals were part of the defense of the crown)
