This is in reference to an article I read a couple of days ago in which young people recently graduating from college and grad school are not having families or buying homes at the rates their parents or grandparents did. Some say huge student loans prevent them from starting a family. should the US govenrment offer more assistance for young people?

It may happen.......

I was recently in Singapore. The birth rate in Singapore is now 1.1 children per woman, which is less than half the population replacement rate. The Govt is very concerned about the long term consequences of this for Singapore's economy, and is offering all sorts of incentives to have more kids.

Why should college graduates have an advantage over everyone else? There are plenty of children being born to parents who are not college educated. Should the government offer incentives to them too?

Absolutely not. I don't want the government involved in any way in determining, incenting or detouring people from making choices about their personal lives.
