The first four are definitely right. I have some doubts about the last one. Although each clause is independent and could stand alone as a sentence, the relationship between them doesn't exactly call for a semicolon. Are those two marks your only options? If they're not, my first preference would be to subordinate one of the clauses. "All the chess players played so well that the students thought the tournament was exciting." (Or, better, "that the students found the tournament exciting.") OR "The students thought the tournament was exciting, because all the chess players played so well." If you have to stick with choosing the right punctuation, I'd go for a colon or a dash in place of the comma, since (to me, anyway) the second clause explains or expands on the first. And if you absolutely have to choose between a comma and a semicolon, use a semicolon, since the sentence does consist of two independent clauses.
