Regardless of the conditions at the time and how well things are going now, they did and do owe the General an apology. But don't hold your breath. Liberals have held the military in distain and disgust for decades. When they do pretend to support them it's only ever for political gain. And yet every now and then, as was the case with General Petraeus, their true distain comes spewing out.
“You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.” ~ Sen. John Kerry

No they were not wrong, because "ALL" Dems did not say he was wrong or lying.
Many said he used a report written in The White House as basis for his testimony, they were correct.
I for one am elated at the turn for the better in Iraq. It is great to see Iraqis put aside their differences to achieve a greater good. Many Iraqis now seem to see that without security and stability, they can never implement an independent Government. I hope the different factions and tribes continue to work together in the future.

The surge worked!! Our troops start coming home tomorrow and Iraq is a shining beacon of peaceful democracy serving as a role model for the rest of the middle east!! The Surge will go down as a glorious tide-turning victory equal to that of the Battle of Baghdad (6+ years ago) and the Battle for Fallujah (4+ years ago)!!!

Many Democrats also said that we should not have invaded Iraq as they had nothing to do with 9-11 and that they were not a threat to the U.S. They were right about that. Do Republicans and others owe them an apology?????

Dems owe the General a HUGE apology. Here we have a man leading our fighting forces in a very difficult and dangerous war. The tide has turned. And, they blaspheme him. Patriots? Hypocrites?

Do you define a few less deaths every month as "going well"? The war is still putting the U.S. in debt for generations to come. All for what, exactly?
Please...enlighten me why hundreds of thousands of people had to die and trillions of dollars had to be spent. How, exactly, does it benefit anyone except the boards of directors of the world's oil companies?
