I used dry graphite lubricant on all of the door hinges (it's a 4 panel 2-car garage door, fiberglass, attached to a 1/2 horse Craftsman opener that isn't brand new but isn't super old either), and I also increased the spring tension slightly to give the door-opener a little more help, but the door still stops going up about 1/4th the way up when it's cold outside.

If opening the door by hand (disconnecting the automatic opener) the door goes up and down fairly easily no matter how cold it is outside. The door opener also works fine if the temp is above about 25 degrees F. Any suggestions on a fix would be greatly appreciated because I'm out of ideas. Thanks.

On your opener is 2 screws inset in the unit. One is for upforce one is for downforce. increase the upforce.

Try clean the track of the opener with some WD-40. Then spray some silicone back into the track. Also use it on your tracks. Check your bolts and nuts at the connections between the door and the opener. Some times these become loose and will stop working the door part way up. The other thing to look for is the eye beam safety boxes. If it get real cold since they are mounted on thin metal they could be moving and this will stop the door too. And a lot of things don`t work when it get cold including me :)

ok dont use graphite to lube the hinges, use a lube by FEHR BROs, it is garage door multipurpose lube. Spray it in hinges, rollers and lube springs. Depending on model of opener on the back of opener or on the right side(if standing in garage looking at door) are two blue or white screws. One is for open force the other is for close force. tweak them a little bit toward the high numbers or toward high depending on model. In cold weather things tend to bind more and can cause this problem. If you can't find above mentioned lube us 30W motor oil
