GT stands for Grand tourer.

A grand tourer (Italian: Gran Turismo), (initialised GT), is a high-performance automobile designed for long-distance driving. Any such car could be considered a grand tourer, but the traditional and most common body style is the coupé (two door) with either a two-seat or a 2+2 seat arrangement.

Grand Turismo (ie, Grand Touring) - which can actually be used in two very different ways when applied to cars:

1) GT used literally as Grand Touring, being a more luxury/comfort orient version of a sports car.

2) The opposite of the above where the car is more race oriented (this usage developing from GT classes in sports car racing, where the cars are based off of street versions).

In car names, it is most likely that you'll find the later used almost always... though in common conversation when someone refers to something being "more of a GT car," it would be the former.
