Been there, struggling myself. The one thing that has helped me most of all is to commit yourself to this principle:

You don't have to WANT to do something to do it. You don't have to wait until you "feel like it" or be inspired or motivated or any of that crap. Much of life is just mundane ordinary stuff that you need to do and if you don't, your life runs amuck somehow. There is no need for emotional investment about whether or not you "feel like it". So when it comes to these things, set up your stuff and your schedule and your surroundings so that the experience is as organized and pleasant as possible...then just knock it out...when you are done, you have time to do something else that you do feel like doing.

Find something worthwhile to do that rewards you for the extra time. Maybe it is time out with friends or alone, or taking a mini vacation, anything from a weekend cruise to a little afternoon drive in the country (whatever suits your budget)...which you can do if you get all caught up, not to mention just vegging out without getting caught unprepared in some other area of your life.

Find something to substitute for the pressure you seem to enjoy. MANY many people, for whatever reason, thrive on having to race a deadline. If that is true, you can find other activities for pleasure of the race. Things like video games or competitive sports where you race someone else, or a clock. You can also move UP your deadlines for everyday tasks and get that pressure in smaller increments. Instead of waiting for the last minute to study for a test, break up the study time and see how much material you can master in 20 minutes. Or "cram" one night a week for an hour on each chapter...then put it away. Instead of waiting for your house to be a complete disaster before you clean it...see how many dishes you can do during a commercial break. Or how much cleaning you can get done while your fav CD plays.

You say you are lazy but honestly, laziness just creates more work...so I don't believe that you are lazy. Your life doesn't have to be HARD to be productive. And there is nothing wrong with spending part of your life sitting around doing nothing. It's healthy.

I'm such a procrastinator too...I've found that writing lists really helps. You just have to have will power, literally make yourself to do it. Like last night I needed to clean my house and my friends wanted to hang out and I made it clear to myself of course that if I didn't clean up I couldn't go out with my friends! I stuck by it...lets just I'm my own discipliner! lol

Tell your self you'll be worse off if you don't study sooner and you'll have more time to do stuff you want to do if you study when you're supposed to and get all your work done when it's supposed to be done

I would not do anything about your procrastination until after New Years day.

every morning write a list of all the things you need to do.
then do them as soon as possible.
every hour look at the list, and ask yourself,
which of these can I do right now?
pick one and do it.
