The Patriots! They even named a law after them, the Patriot Act.
The Patriots are the only team that isn't named for a city or state. "Cowboys" are named after a profession. Everyone can be a patriot, but only men around horses can be cowboys.
The Patriots are playing more of their games at night, so the whole country can watch. They're winning fans every week. Call it bandwagon if you want, but new fans have to start sometime. With the Pat's historic season, there's no better time.
The Patriots have the American flag worked into their logo. The New England Patriots are America's team!

The Cowboys will ALWAYS be America's Team. Others try to emulate them when they have a good year (Patriots in 07, Bears in 85, Pittsburgh in 92) but they fade away.

I don't know if the America's Team title can be used much in the NFL anymore. The number of blue collar teams is diminishing and the NFL has become more about money. That being said, of the two, I would give it to the Cowboys because they seem to be a more balanced team. The Patriots may be better, but the Cowboys are more balanced.

dallas is americas team its a name that was givin to the cowboys not a title like superbowl chap that changes every year, nobody can take that away from the cowboys, mind you im not a cowboys fan, its like the raider nation thats the only nation title, not one that every team gets to use, its all bs make up names for your own team dont try to steal others, and please dont say that the pats are americas team almost everybody outside of mass should be ashames of that i truly hope the patsies arent a representative of the U.S.A. that would be embarassing for me as an american id like to think people of this country have higher values and morals do than the patsies do

I am a Patriots fan, I would say calling any team "America's Team" is just arrogant and stupid. Its the kind of silly behavior you would expect from Texans, but the whole remark is just rediculous.

The term "America's Team", to me was given to Cowboys years ago, but to me the title doesn't belong to anyone given team. They have a lot of bandwagon fans as well as the Pats.

Patriots- have far more fans across the country while most cowboy fans are in Texas. Texas is what, the 2nd most populated state in the country? and that is with only 2 nfl teams.
Cowboys- represent power, media hype, and greed. these are all American qualities, which rightly gives them the term America's Team.
oh and another thing, the Packers have the largest fan base not only in America, but around the world. they are especially popular in Europe and Eastern Asia. the Steelers aren't far behind them either. between the Pats and Cowboys though, the pats have more. at least that is what i see in half the country. i love to travel. knowing the population of the home state does help.

What America are you talking about? The one that is run by money and capitalism? Dallas. Or the only team in the entire NFL that is owned by shareholders and not one guy? You can't get anymore democratic than the Green Bay Packers. If you look at the Harris Poll, Dallas and Green Bay are consistently in the top 4 year in and year out. Wait in another 5 years or so when NE is just a mediocre team and ask me this question again.

Neither. The Steelers have the most fans across the country. Doesn't that make them the real America's Team?
