I had the conversation with a lady at work who is getting child support. She said that most men just accept what the judge says without asking the question why. Questions like " Why I have to pay 28 to 35 percent of my income for one child?, or Why don't I have as much right to that child as the mohter does?, Why don't joint custody mean what it says Joint Custody?" They come in the court room already feeling they are going to lose, so they just accept what is being told to them. I mean I agree that a man should pay child support for his childern, it is only fair. But if the government wants you to pay the amount you would have paid if you never left, than you should get the rights to the child as if you never left. Guys give me your opinions on this topic?

Men don't fight back becuase there is nothing to fight. The laws are very biased toward the mother. When you are going to fight, and get stuck with the mother's legal bills as well, why fight at all?
Edit: I think all men could go on and on about horror stories about child support. I had a friend who had a judge order him to pay for a NEW car for the child's mother because hers broke down. And he was no rich guy either. Just an average guy.

Most people don't know how to fight back. As a woman who has to pay child support, I get dicked by the system. I'm doing everything I can to find out how to fight back. There is no help for people who pay child support. They look at us like we are scum of the earth which is bull ****. Thinks have to change. And I think I wont stop until something is done.

Each state has a limit on what a parent should pay in child support. I think in Alabama, where I live, it's like 25% or something like that. I think that something needs to change in our family court system because oftentimes the best parent is overlooked. I think it should be standard for all parties in a child custody dispute be drug tested, at their expense, to ensure that the child will not be subjected to a drug environment. I understand that it is hard on the child to have his or her time divided equally between each parent in a joint custody arrangement, but what other solution is there? I say that the parents are the ones who should take responsibility. Either one or both parents were at fault for the failure of the marriage/relationship and they should be willing to take responsibility for that and work out a better arrangement other than moving on and taking either the mother or father completely out of the child's life. That is not what's best for the child. I think that the family court system looks at it like this...up until the child is 7 they thrive when they are mostly around their mother...when that child reaches the age of 7 and up, they thrive better when they live with or are taken care of by the parent of their same sex. i'm not sure if this answers anything, but it definately adds some new topics.

As a single mother that has never received one red cent from the father of my child, I must say I think it's bull **** that the law don't listen to men.. My current husband was a great father to his daughter I mean spoiled the **** out of her to where YES it was annoying to me & my kids. Maybe cuz neither my kids nor me have experienced such a thing in our life, but once the X found out that he was in a relationship with me AFTER TWO YEARS of them being separated. She started all this court ****! Mind you he use to give her cash which friends & myself told him he shouldn't do that he should always keep a paper trail! anyways yes she ****** him better then she probably ever physically ****** him. Well here we are almost nine years later fighting still she filled a restraining order on my husband that since we been together has never miss treated her an anyway, Yet she manage to convince the courts that because of his past (jail) time that she feared for her life & her daughters life... Give me a ****** break 1. she's a legal assistant if that don't make the picture any clearer my husband is on disability the courts have closed cases modified cases & she always manages to reopen the case due to her not agreeing with what the courts have decided.. Yet it's been 6 years since he's seen the kid due to the mother not allowing it, yet b-4 she found out we where dating & that he was moving in with me & my children. he had his daughter from Friday after school till Monday morning, he was her soccer coach. I can go on & on but really what's the point. when she found out we where going to get married, she told him in front of me why didn't you ever want to marry me! Really is this really about the money the kid or is it clearly just revenge cuz she's bitter & cant stand to see him happy! I wish someone could help us I'm so tired of it all. I stand by my husband through it all cuz I love him he's a great husband & father to my 4 kids that aren't even his let alone his oldest daughter that may I add attended our wedding with her mother & aunt... So is the problem my husband or this women that can't get over her obsession with my husband that may I add she wanted nothing to do with him, she left him for another man, she has since been in two different relationships her current one being the longest but it don't STOP the DRAMA from happening.. Good luck to all the men that have to deal with EVIL women like this one!

What can we do? If, men do not come together!
Deny, paying this injustice? They will suspend your passports,
take away your License for certain jobs,drivers license, Then
you lose your income, lose your home, welcome to homelessness life,Then, they will put out a warrant for your arrest, violation of not paying child support, How can you? So, they put you in jail, for what? Because, they can get money that way too!
America is disgusting in their behavior towards men in this manner.It is becoming just a big gigantic holding cell to abuse the people there of for the 1% richest. Taking our children away,income away and freedom away, then try to force you withing the borders. I sometimes want to defect or renounce my citizenship. They not doing anything to help the family nor do they care, It is away for a lot of women to live freely off the mans back
while, receiving welfare and all the benefits, and aide provided. the system only care about the millions of dollars being made
because, everyone they put in this vicious cycle..is just more money for that state from the federal government pssst!

It is really a form of extortion "ILLEGAL"!!!! A way for the federal government to obtain money from innocent people.
Fun Fact: A judge is not allowed to preside over a child support case, because he or she has a financial interest in the case, this is called "Judicial Misconduct"!!!! Every time a judge makes a ruling to raise $$ amounts or sends someone to jail in a support case he or she gets a kick back from the federal government, this is how he or she pads $$ their own pockets.

I will answer this 6 years after it being asked, but better late than never,
Men / fathers have principles of pride and of honor, so that we do not fight back against a Lady, and even more so when the Lady is the mother of our child.
The Woman slaps a Man's face and we men do not slap her back - that is the principle.
Going to Court is a display of "dirty laundry" which the vast majority of Men view as completely inappropriate and unimaginable to be discussed or argued in any public exposure and especially NOT in a Court room.
That is why the Men / the fathers do not fight back and we accept whatever the Court decides even when it is horribly unjust and lies and whatever.
The Women / the mothers seem to view the Courts as a sporting event, as the Women go into Court telling every private and personal thing without any show of pride or of shame and no way to stop the female on their crusade to discredit the father of their children and to paint their selves as the victim.
The females do not have the masculine sense of pride or of honor and so no sensible man can ever stand up against that kind of inappropriate personal confrontation whether in private or in the public exposure.
The mother of the Man's child tells a Judge and Court such things as if the father does not love or care for their child, and she does that because she wants to win win win, so no man can fight against their child's mother.
No sensible man / father is going to talk trash (dirty laundry) against the mother of their child in any Court.
That is the answer to the question - FYI.
