Hell, I have a 30 gallon brackish water set up. I have a violet goby who is doing great, and 2 small glass fish(don't worry, they aren't the painted type) I want to get a figure 8 puffer, but am wondering how well they would do. I have done a bunch of research and realize that it depends on a lot of different factors. But I am wondering about personal experience. If anyone has kept these types of fish together I would love your input. Thanks!

My experience with puffers is that even the most "friendly" types as babies/juveniles will become territorial and aggressive to tankmates as they mature. They also tend to nip fins of other fish in the tank, which can lead to infection or death.

I really like puffers, but these should be set up in a tank of their own.

I have a 30 Gallon Brackish Aquarium set up. It contains two 2 inch Figure 8 Puffers one Violet Goby (5 inches in length) and a Pleco. The Violet goby (aka dragonfish) keeps to himself and the puffers don't bother him. However one of the puffers likes to try his luck with the plecko from time to time. My recommendation is make sure there is sand at the bottom so the Goby can bury himself as well as many places he can hide through the day for protection.

My Goby has no interest in anyone else in the tank.
