How else can people so easily treat others so horribly?

No, everyone is born with a conscience, some just manage to disassociate themselves from it. Then on the other hand, some people are so ignorant of the bad things they do to others, that their conscience is not activated, for they cannot see that they have done anything wrong in the first instance.

Being depressed at an exceedingly youthful age could have alot to do with you having no compassion for the individuals around you like the harmless becuase you re afriad to experience that sorrow and unhappiness lower back so which you in simple terms pass to anger and hate thinking of wounding a infant is becuase they're harmless and on your eyes vulnerable and probably that infant reminds you of you once you have been a infant

I don't know... when I read about serial killers I always wonder what it is that made them the way they are. How is it that some people get a rush out of killing innocent people...? I don't know. Perhaps it is mental illness... with a few screws missing and more dislodging as time went by...

These people are called sociopaths and yes, they are unfortunately born with no conscience. See the film, "Mr. Ripley" with John Malkovich- you'll see it in action!

Conscience isn't something you are born with. It's something that you learn from your environment. Your parents and close family and friends teach you right from wrong etc.

very good question. it's got me thinking that maybe no one is born with a conscience. we're born with instincts, everything else we have to learn, even to speak. look at ferral children.

Good question...i think some are born with that chemical imbalance and others become chemically imbalanced from environmental issues....
Its very difficult to decipher...cause look at Daumer..his parents seemed great..Daumer even seemed somewhat sane he just wanted to eat people.....Its crazy isnt it??
