My 2 favorite quotes is by Thomas Jefferson who said -

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of currency, first by
inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive
the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers
conquered."

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.
Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The
issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly
belongs."

He was a brillant man .

Good quote. I don't follow political quotes though because too few politicians do not have or best intrests in mind. The Federal Bank thinks they can pull our country out of the situation it has put us in, but they won't be able to because what has been done it's too late to "fix" this country. The government has been starting to confiscate gold. So there is little time left before we all are in a world of hurt.

I agree with you Thomas Jefferson was a brilliant man. The quotes you provide reasoning for Section 8 of the US Constitution, which gives control of currency and the value of such to congress and not banks.

To answer your question, I too will quote Thomas Jefferson.

"Honesty, is the first chapter in the book of wisdom."

Reagan "Standing on the tiny deck of the Arabella in 1630 off the Massachusetts coast, John Winthrop said, “We will be as a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us, so that if we deal falsely with our God in this work we have undertaken and so cause Him to withdraw His present help from us, we shall be made a story and a byword throughout the world.” Well, we have not dealt falsely with our God, even if He is temporarily suspended from the classroom. The problem of power is how to achieve its responsible use rather than its irresponsible and indulgent use - of how to get men of power to live for the public rather than off the public.
Robert F. Kennedy

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." -JFK

I never understood the popularity of this quote. Why shouldn't I be asking what my country can do for me? I do have the option to live anywhere I want. I should base my decision on which country I can help the most? I could help any third world country way more than I could help the States. I mean, if I was REALLY concerned with "doing good for a country", I would move to a country that needs help. Staying in the states proves I'm more concerned with what my country can do for me. Anyways, I'm ranting.

"There are those who believe that if you will only legislate to make the well-to-do prosperous, their prosperity will leak through on those below. The Democratic idea, however, has been that if you legislate to make the masses prosperous, their prosperity will find its way up through every class which rests upon them."

I think we would all do well do carry the following quote in our hearts at all times -

"It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor."

-George Washington, In his first Presidential Proclamation, October 3, 1789.
