does reading peoples questions that you know (IE people you know that ask questions, just to simplify that sentence, it sounded a little confusing!) give you a further insight to the goings on of that persons mind?

First of psychology is not the insight into peoples mind. There are different forms of psychology. One of those subcategories is going into a persons mind and helping deal with their "problems". I would say that yes, reading peoples questions (since there are such a variety) can help you get a further insight in to that person's mind.

Not a lot, but neither do a lot of psychologists and psychiatrists. I do know quite a lot about human nature from having lived a long time and in the professions I worked in.

if you are asking if you can gain insight into a person by the questions they ask, maybe yes and maybe no. It depends on their personality...i.e. are they typically joksters, serious type, etc. Maybe they are compulsive liars. It just depends, but probably not.

it gives you insight into one facet of their personality.. it is very important to remember that there is no accountability on the internet.. and therefor people will say, do and ask things they wouldn't in their normal life.

I guess it would if you notice the kinds of words they use, and their sentence structure, but that can only give you a vague idea of what kind of person they really are.

it is a soft science which deals with the human mind - thoughts, feelings, emotions, behaviour, that sort of thing
