Help much appreciated.

Yea guys just keep checking the question im sure someone wil have a solution...there must be an easier way of doing it rather than having to burn and import like 2000 songs!

It tells you exactly how to get all the songs from an iPod to a computer. It's actually pretty easy. Took me like 15 mins to get my 600 songs.

I'll message the people who wanted to know how to do it =)

good luck!

Before you do anything you'll need to download iTunes to the new laptop from: http://www.apple.com/ . Also, be sure to De-Authorize the old computer if it will no longer be in use.

Transferring iTunes Music:
>>> MAKE SURE that your iTunes is set to [MANUALLY MANAGE MUSIC] <<<

Method #1:
If ALL of your music was purchased from the iTunes Music Store then Apple has a step by step solution: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173

Method #2:
Download iDump or any other similar software from download.com (for free).

Method #3:
[This method does not require third party software or an internet connection. This method will transfer ALL songs, photos and videos from iPod to computer; use Method #1 to transfer specific songs. Playlists will not transfer.]

> Connect iPod to computer.
> [Start]
> [My Computer]
> Double click [iPod drive]
> [Tools]
> [Folder Options]
> [View]
> Select [Show Hidden Files & Folders] and click [OK]
> Right click [iPod Control] folder.
> Select [Properties]
> Un-select [Hidden] and click [OK]
> Select [Apply Changes To This Folder, Subfolder And Files] and click [OK]
> Open [iPod Control] folder.
> Open [Music] folder.
> You will notice folders labeled F00, F01, F02, F03, F04, etc.
> Place iTunes side by side w/ this window. Make sure that [Music Library] is displayed.
> In iTunes select [Edit> Preferences> Advanced] and put a check next to:
- [Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized] &
- [Copy Files To iTunes Music Folder When Adding To Library]
> Click [OK]
> Drag and drop all of the [F] folders into the iTunes [Music Library]
> Done.

Method #4:
[Use your iPod as an external hard drive.]

> Locate the [Music Folder]. If you don’t know where the Music Folder is open iTunes and go to [Edit> Preferences> Advanced] to find the Music Folder location.
> Then go to [Start> My Computer> iPod Drive]
> Drag and drop the [Music Folder] into the [iPod Drive]. You can even transfer documents and photos as well.
> On the new computer open iTunes and select [Edit> Preferences> Advanced] and put a check next to:
- [Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized] &
- [Copy Files To iTunes Music Folder When Adding To Library]
> Click [OK]
> Open the iPod Drive [Start> My Computer> iPod Drive] and drag and drop the music folders into the iTunes [Music Library] interface.
> Done.

NinaP is right. Put the songs on the ipod. Plug the ipod into the new computer, then authorise the computer to recognise the ipod. Then authorise the downloaded music to be used by that computer. Sounds complicated but it isn't!

two things:

1. If her Ipod has all her music, then she just has to hook up her Ipod to the new computer, and voila!

2. If she has music she bought from Itunes, all she has to do is go to the new computer's Itunes and authorize that computer (it's in the settings) to use music from the account she bought it from.

i think but im not sure that the only way to do it is save them all to disc & copy that onto the new laptop (import them into itunes or whatever) then sync the ipod on the new computer. If theres another way, let me know cos ive to do it myself soon.
