I'm in the market to purchase a Plasma Cutter.
Any suggestions where to see any tradeoff websites. What makes a good choice for purchasing the right make & Model.

The plasma cutter you choose should be based on the material you are cutting. Lincoln and Miller both make excellent plasma cutters .... you can do a search and come up with more brands than you ever knew existed. This page from Miller might help you in your decision.

Plasma cutting has many benefits, which has made it an attractive application in many different industries. This cutting process uses a gas jet, charged at great speeds to cut metal up to six inches thick at very high temperatures. Plasma cutting can be performed on any type of conductive metal - mild steel, aluminum and stainless are some examples. With mild steel, operators will experience faster, thicker cuts than with alloys.

I agree with Miller and Lincoln brands. You need to decide what thickness of metal you will be cutting. I saw one for cutting 1/4" thickness at a Farm store yesterday for $750. They are not cheap, plus you need a good size compressor.

go to like Amerigas where welders get their gas, materials, supplies and you might see one for sale. Also, try the Trading Times if you have that where you live. I have seen alot online at Craigslist.com, too. anyplace that sells welding supplies is a good place to start. National Welding is another one where I live.
