My favorite fad of the 80's was big hair, I loved my big hair!!! Also, big hair bands!!! Loved them!! :o)
I didn't get into 90's fads because I was a mommy & too busy with my newborn children!! That was my favorite part of the 90's!! :o)
I think Yahoo Answers will be around for a while...at least, I hope it does & doesn't become another fad.

In the 80's I was into punk and heavy metal, by the 90's I was into mosh pits. I don't know that I was into fads but some of them were pretty funny, Like neon colors and leg warmers.

It's oh so hard to say the best fad for the 80's, if anything I'd probably have to say the "flock of seagulls" hair style or the "miami vice" suit (rolled up blazer, t-shirt, slacks, and dress shoes without socks hahaha) both of which came in neon colors.
For the 90's I'd probably go with the grunge look, I mean it's still kinda around but i like it because it's a comfortable look. It's like ya just grab any article of clothing you see lyin around in ur room and throw it on, pretty much not caring wat people think about how you look, which is pretty cool.
