My brother-in-law is going overseas, right after Christmas. I am completely clueless as to what would be a good gift. Any suggestions would be highly appreicated.

May I suggest a small photo of you and the family so that it can be carried in his billfold. And a Guardian Angel Coin with his name on it. I had the same thing when I was in the service years ago. It gives one the comfort that home is not that far away. Thank you for your time. Dan

If he's in the service:
Candy
Homemade baked goods
Coffee
Disposable razors, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, etc.
DVD's
Books, American newspapers and magazines

For the Middle East:
Sunscreen
Talc and baby wipes for the sand

If he's not in the service:
Books
Nice toiletries, or whatever he likes to use at home (not always available in other countries)
Set of adaptable electrical plugs for different power levels
Subscriptions to American magazines or newspapers (need his new address)
Clothing for different climates
Munchies, candy, or homemade baked goods

Funky luggage tags and a neck pillow for on the airplane.

A map of where he is going

Calling Card!

P.S. They say everyone buys luggage in black or navy so when there luggage comes off they can't find there very easily these funky luggage tags help identify your bag. I mean he would just attache the ribbon. Ohhh......I am doing this for someone this year and I am using the tag itself to be the Christmas tag on the gift. I have filled out all the information on it for them. Its just a matter of clipping it on their bag.

I assume he is working and will be gone for awhile? Military? Civilian? You left out way too much information.
